The End of the School Day

It is really important that you collect your child promptly. A child can become anxious if they feel they have been “left behind”. If you are held up through unforeseen circumstances, please telephone the school office to let us know. Also, if for some reason the normal adult who collects your child cannot do so, and you are sending someone else, please telephone and let us know before 2pm when possible.

All children should be collected from the playground by their parents or carers. Children in Reception, Year 1, Year 2 and Year 3 handed over into the care of a parent or carer from their classrooms. Children in Years 4, 5 and 6 will come out from their designated exits into the playground. Generally only Year 6 children are allowed to walk home on their own (although children are always encouraged to walk with a friend or a known adult). Written permission must be received in order for a child to walk home alone.

Any children attending after-school clubs will be collected from their classroom by the club leader or a Teaching Assistant. Teachers will maintain a list of names for each club.

Any children not collected at the end of the school day should be taken to the school office.
