School Council

Our vision: To provide children an opportunity to voice their opinions and make a difference in the daily life at school. Children are taught the key British Value of democracy.

Cannon Lane School Council consists of two peer-elected children from each class, one serving as the main representative and one as the deputy. The purpose of our school council is that the children at Cannon Lane have their views and opinions heard to make positive changes in the school.

The school council meets regularly with Miss McCurdy, and minutes can be found through the school council secretary.

The school council have been involved in improving the outside play area, school meals, meeting with local government, and starting a student-led newsletter. Come to see our school councillors in the downstairs hall on the display.

School Council Trips:

Each year, Cannon Lane School Council visits the Eastcote War Memorial for a Remembrance Day Service. This year, we were lucky enough to join in the service put on by the local council, joined by local MP David Simmonds as well as various veterans and the minister from St. Joseph's Church.

The children met three alumni from Cannon Lane who spoke to the children about going to school in the 1940's. They really enjoyed their walk down. Thank you to all the parents and family members who came along to support us.
